PIPIRRANA (TYPICAL ANDALUSIAN SALAD)
Yesterday I made a pipirrana with octopus and I thought to write a post about this receipt becouse I want to show you what we were talking about in Glosario de palabras andaluzas. The pipirrana is made with pepper, onion, tomato and cucumber but you can add some seefood like octopus, mussels, crab sticks… It’s easy to prepare.
You can also find it in bars, you can go and ask for a tapa.
- 1 green pepper
- 1/2 onion
- 1 or 2 tomatoes
- vinegar, oil and salt
How to prepare:
First you have to cook the octopus for 20 minutes (medium octopus) in a pressure cooker -maybe this is the hardest part to do because if you cook the octopus too much it will be hard-
Then cut all the ingredients -the pepper, the tomato, the onion, the cucumber and the octopus- in small pieces and put them into a bowl.
Add a lot of vinegar, a little of oil, salt and mix it all. Finally put it in the fridge for an hour. After that is ready to eat!
That’s all! Hope you like the recipe!
